Our Approach to Custom Woodworking

At Artisan Wood, we focus on a transparent, process-driven method for each project. Our workflow begins with understanding your spatial needs, material preferences, and design direction. We then translate these into detailed drawings and select sustainably sourced hardwoods. Through precise joinery, carving, and finishing, we build furniture that integrates seamlessly into your environment. Whether for a private residence or a restaurant interior, our goal is to deliver objects that are functional, durable, and respectful of the wood's natural character.

From Concept to Completion: Our Methodology

Every project at Artisan Wood begins with a consultation where we discuss your ideas, measurements, and functional requirements. We then produce a preliminary sketch and a material proposal. Once approved, we move to the workshop: rough lumber is milled, joinery is cut and fitted by hand or with precision machines, and the piece is assembled without glue to test alignment. After final adjustments, we disassemble for sanding and finishing. The finishing stage involves multiple coats with drying and buffing between each. Finally, the piece is delivered and installed on-site. This step-by-step approach ensures consistency and allows for adjustments at each phase. Factors such as humidity, wood movement, and client feedback influence the timeline and techniques employed.
